This bend in the River Rhone, with deep and swirling waters, is known as the Revestidou, and became an impassable area after the bend was closed by a “CNR” dyke (Compagnie Nationale du Rhône) in 1976.

The Revestidou (which means “reverse passage”) recalls the time when the river’s direction varied. Alongside the River Rhone, the Revestidou lake covers more than 20 hectares and is a great spot for fishing. Boating is authorised, with thermic motors of less than 3 horsepower.
