Built at the end of the 12th Century, the Thoronet Abbey is one of the “3 Provençal Sisters”. Celebrated by the book “Les Pierres Sauvages”, the church & monastery strongly express the Cistercian idealism, full of simplicity & rigour that St Benoit inspired. -
The austerity and balance of Cistercian architecture make this jewel of Provençal Romanesque a unique living place which is open to all comers. An oasis of coolness, these old stones whisper stories and conceal many a mystery… Objects worth exploring with the family book.
