Built by Baron Schirrer, a wealthy German industrialist, who wants to install an industry there that works with water from the Causéga torrent.

This residence is ceded by its heirs to an association in Menton, which is setting up a holiday centre for children of modest origin. Acquired by the city of Menton, it finally becomes a summer camp for school children in the municipality.
During the Second World War, the Italians then the Germans settled their cantonments and imprisoned partisans.
After the war, the castle returned to its vocation as a summer camp.
