Located in the district of " Le Panier", this old hospice of the 17th century is composed of several wings closed on the outside and opened on a rectangular court by galleries on the three levels.

In the center, a chapel with a baroque style dome is the work of Pierre Puget.
The Old Charity 'La Vieille Charité" is classified as a historical monument since 1951. It is currently a multidisciplinary center with scientific and cultural vocation. It houses the Museum of Mediterranean Archaeology and the Museum of African, Oceanian and Amerindian Arts, as well as temporary exhibitions.
