Saint Roch, who was born at the end of the 13th century and spent his entire life working to help plague victims, has his chapel on this site; it was erected in the 17th century and extended in 1720. In that year, a terrible plague epidemic desecrated Provence. This scourge had many victims in Orgon, but the number of deaths was considered small compared with neighbouring communes. The people of Orgon and their consuls then vowed that they would hold a solemn procession to Saint Roch Chapel on 16 August every year, to thank Providence for saving them from this danger,
The Chapel is open on Easter Monday and 16 August.
