HISTORY
The Le Roure family, one of the most brilliant in the town, was confirmed in its nobility by letters patent in 1758. An alliance with the Du Laurens family gave them the Barony of Beaujeu and the Barbegal estate, which contained a large vineyard in the late 19th century. Several members of the family played important roles in local life, such as Henri du Roure (born in 1741), Mayor of Arles from 1805 to 1807 and Host Jérôme Scipion, known as the Baron du Roure (1858-1924), The heritage funds of the municipal media library house the family archives. A descendant, Anna, born in 1859, married Count Laforest de Divonne, who bought and gave his name to the family residence on Rue de la Roquette in 1900. The mansion is now divided into several apartments.
