Located in the middle of the lake, the Chapel is the emblem of Serre-Ponçon. During the construction of the Serre-Ponçon dam in the 1960’s, the abolition of the chapel was planned, but its position on a promontory made it possible to save it.

On the Serre-Ponçon Lake, saved from the water and emerging on its islet, the Saint-Michel Chapel gracefully reflects itself on the emerald shores that surround it.
