The Cezanne Route

  • Route Cezanne is the only road in France that is listed as a Historic Monument. This example of exceptional heritage runs from Aix-en-Provence to the village of Le Tholonet.

  • Some people still call it the D17, while others knew it as the little Tholonet road, but since 1959 its official title has been "Route Cézanne".

    This protected site is known all over the world thanks to the extraordinary beauty of its landscapes and the artist who immortalised them: Paul Cézanne.
