Visit of the Abbey of Thoronet

In the heart of the Var hinterland, Thoronet Abbey is one of the "three Provençal sisters", along with the abbeys of Sénanque and Silvacane.

Built at the end of the 12th century, Thoronet Abbey is a model of architecture in terms of the purity of its lines, the simplicity of its volumes, its harmonious proportions and its exceptional acoustics.
The absolute stripping of its architecture is a source of inspiration for many 20th century architects, including Le Corbusier.
