Consisting of 11 sections of varying levels, this route is unique and very comprehensive. Paths winding through the middle of alpine pastures lead you to discover the cultural and architectural heritage of the valley, notably the villages of the Haute Ubaye, the Fort de Tournoux and the tunnels of the old Lauzet railway line. With forest passages requiring more precise riding and wide tracks offering privileged views of the landscapes of the lower Ubaye, the Transubayenne definitely has everything to please.
The upper section, which is a little more challenging, will satisfy experienced cyclists keen to tackle the upper Ubaye valley. The lower section, from Barcelonnette to Lake Serre-Ponçon, is more accessible. It is better suited to families looking for rolling trails.
