The Dornier 24 is a three-engine seaplane built in Germany. June 1, 1949. Near Port-Cros, the plane crashes into the sea. All three engines suddenly stopped. Captain Bohain, in command of the aircraft, decides to ditch the plane, but contact with the surface of the water is particularly violent. One of the floats broke away, and the plane flipped over and sank. The pilot was killed instantly, while the seven other crew members were rescued by a fishing boat, the Anne-Marie.
