Resorts in The Alps

Famous throughout the world for its coastline and the hinterland of Provence, the mountainous massifs of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region gain new members every winter-spring season. Those who have had a taste of it now know that snow has its good habits in the South. Because it is possible to note 2,500 hours of sunshine per year and to ski in a powder snow in January on Easter Monday!

The resorts have developed from and around villages that are still there. Their inhabitants built the first lifts, from the 1930s onwards; they became hoteliers, instructors, storekeepers while continuing to look after the land and the animals. More than 60 resorts have a major ski area, a constellation of villages and Nordic ski centers, representing 2,500 km of alpine ski runs and some 1,200 km of cross-country runs.

Main ski areas

The major alpine areas offer large-scale ski areas allowing the practice of all forms of skiing suitable for beginners and the most experienced: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and ski touring. Fun addicts can indulge without limits in the joys of freestyle, surfing, skwaling and other acrobatic jumps on snow parks specially designed for thrills! These large areas also include sports activities, wellness retreats, cultural visits, etc.
