The city of Arles is a starting point for an excursion to Provence or the Camargue.

Lovers of nature and wide open spaces can easily, by taking part in an excursion from Arles, visiting the Camargue and discovering its treasures. You can admire groups of pink flamingos at the Vaccarès pond, walk along immense fine sandy beaches, gallop through rice paddies and fields… This exceptional territory is protected by the Camargue Regional Natural Park and by several nature reserves.

An excursion departing from Arles can also lead you to discover the Alpilles Regional Natural Park. Between fields of olive trees, valleys covered with pine forests and sparkling white limestone cliffs, the Alpilles are home to charming villages that are just as many destinations. Do not miss, for example, the village of Les Baux-de-Provence, labeled Most Beautiful Villages of France, or the small town of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. You can also discover the neighboring city of Marseille, for an urban excursion between culture, heritage and nature. Indeed, the Phocaean city hosts on its territory a large part of the National Natural Park of the Calanques, which you can easily discover during a sea trip.
