The Jardin Conservatoire des Plantes Tinctoriales de Lauris is a botanical garden, the only one of its kind in Europe, devoted entirely to dye plants and offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Durance valley.
- Although the Château de Lauris, witness to a glorious seigniorial past, is closed to the public, its terraces make this perched village an essential stopover in the Sud-Luberon region. Entirely devoted to dye plants, the botanical garden boasts a collection unique in Europe. Overlooking the Durance valley, this incomparable site preserves more than 250 species of plants used in food, cosmetics and dyeing. Pastels, indigo, cosmos and madder evoke traditional activities and recolor memories. Rich and instructive, the visit also takes into account contemporary concerns. "Plant colors and ecology" is the theme of the discovery, unfolding a rainbow of possibilities for a sustainable future.
