A natural fortress, the Authion massif is a strategic zone where numerous military constructions, forts, redoubts and casemates have been erected since the 19th century. Among the blockhouses, the Pointe des Trois Commune blockhouse stands at 2080'm, on the border between the communes of Breil-sur-Roya, Saorge and La Bollène-Vésubie. Built in 1898-1899, it was the subject of a new project in 1929 to reinforce the defense of this border region.
