According to the investigations on places of worship in 1899, the chapel of Hauts Savornin “is used for baptisms, churching of women and children’s Communion”.
According to Abbot Allibert, it was erected by the inhabitants in 1875 so that the sky would spare them from hail. It is dedicated to St Peter of Verona, martyr, Dominican monk and formidable inquisitor, assassinated near Milan in 1252. This choice was made because of Pierre Silve, an inhabitant of the neighbourhood who took part in the financing of the decoration of the chapel. A singular patronage maybe chosen because of a Dominican convent in Seyne since the 15th century.
