Located at the top of the old village of Pennes-Mirabeau, the small building constructed of bare stones, presents a bell-tower with double arches.
The interior of this chapel of the White Penitents has been preserved, with its laterally arranged benches, the seat of the rector of the brotherhood, and the attributes of procession, monstrance-sun, lanterns, and crucifixes.
Six ex-voters show in a moving way, the benefactory intervention of the Virgin and the testimony of recognition of the survivors. A painting, the Assumption of the Virgin, represents the White Penitents.
A few meters from the chapel are the Lantern of Memory, which is none other than the monument to the dead of the Pennes, an oratory, as well as a windmill, from which one enjoys a panoramic view of the pond of Berre and the chain of Nerthe. Visit by appointment with the Tourist Office.
