Place de l'église, 83510 Lorgues
Saint Martin Church, built between 1704 and 1711 is home to many pieces of art from the XVIIIe century. On the plain and symmetrical facade, to the left, you can recognise Saint Ferreol statue (patron saint of Lorgues) Virgin Mary in the very centre and Saint Martin to the right. The architect Veirier of Aix was entrusted with building this monument and Frejus Bishop, i.e. Bishop de Fleury ( the last cardinal minister under Louis XV) blessed the laying of the first stone in 1704. It took almost 25 years to build this monument.
