Eglise Sainte-Marguerite

"Originally a simple priory attached to the abbey of Saint Victor, the present church of Sainte Marguerite was built during the 19th century, according to the plans of the architect Charles Bodin.

The new lighting of this religious building is part of the 2014 program to modernize the public lighting installations of the Place Antide Boyer in the 9th arrondissement.

A subtle mix of warm white, neutral white and cold white, the lighting design helps to reveal and magnify the various architectural elements of this Romanesque-style building:
- the four pinnacles structuring the façade
- the four pilasters
- the voussures
- the archivolt on the central porch
- and the triforium surmounting a delicately underlined frieze and overhung by the cross.

On the square, at the entrance of the church, the two cast iron statues, recently gilded, representing Saint Joseph and the Virgin, watch over." City of Marseille.
