Created in 1956 by Eloi Monod, La Verrerie de Biot ® invented 'bubbled glass'. It has obtained the 'Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant' (EPV) label, a mark of recognition of rare know-how.
The Verrerie de Biot ® is also labeled Qualité Tourisme.
It is in Biot, an authetic village close to Nice, that the tradition of glassmaking was born in the 1950s. A reference in the field, the Biot glassworks invented the technique of bubbled glass, which you can observe from the entrance. The visit continues in a gallery where the works of internationally renowned contemporary artists are exhibited.
