Inaugurated on 15th August 1988, this monument is a stony block on which a parachut is resting. This was erected in remembrance of the famous Dragoon operation on 15th August 1944, when parachutings were meant to free Provence region.
On August 15, 1944, this location was at the center of the great "Dragoon" airborne operation under the command of General Frederick. This strategic choice made La Motte the first village in Provence to be liberated.
