Until recently, this building was used to weigh loads of all kinds of crops.

Dating back to 1897 in order to make an official weighing system available to farmers.
The principle: The cart (the dumper, then the van, the truck...) was weighed first empty to obtain the tare weight, then fully loaded, to evaluate the total weight of the goods.
There was usually one in large villages, with very precise weighing times.
