




Archeological excavations have shown that this chapel was the center of a powerful priory of Marseille restores the Abbey of St Victor and that it was built around 6-7th centuries on the remains of Gallo-roman villa.
The chapel is mentionned in the charter of 977 by wich the bishop of Marseille restores the Abbey of St Victor and endows it with property in Provence including the chapel of St Côme St Damien and its territories.
The current chapel measures internally 4,2 meters by 3m, it actually corresponds to the vaulted choir of the early church, choir closed around 1600 to form this building.
Restoration work began in 1979, a new bell was installed in 2000.
The entrance is closed to the public, the visit is only from the outside. It was inscribed as a historical Monuments on April 13, 1981.
