This road takes you from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a small town surrounded by water and canals, referred to as the 'Venice of the Comtat', for certain similar points with Venice Italy. Many washing wells have been built along the canals of the Sorgue River, on: Quai Jean Jaurès, Bassin de Bouïgas, Esplanade Robert Vasse, Quais de la Charité, Lices Berthelot, le Portalet, Avenue Fabre de Sérignan. There are still more than ten water wheels which continue to turn. The road continues on to the little village of Saumane, which you reach by car. At the foot of the castle, a covered fountain flows with clear, pure water. Next stop is Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. Visit the famous resurgence, and then drink from the splendid fountain on the Place de la Colonne. Next stop is Le Thor, on the square 'Place du 11 Novembre', to admire the fountain. Explore the cultural heritage and the Sorgue River by following the 'discovery circuit' outlined on a brochure available at the Tourism Office in Le Thor. Finish up in the direction of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne. See the washing well and the fountain at the lower part of the village, near the Renault garage. Stroll through the narrow village streets, along the ramparts, and end up on the village square to see the beautiful fountain. The washing well is at the top of the village.
