Mélèze remarquable de Bramousse

In the village of Bramousse, turn right after the chapel, towards the Col de Bramousse and the GR58, to reach the Bramousse alpine chalets, an immersion in the world of pastoralism. On the right, above the chapel, there's a small chalet, and the path is just behind it (marked in red and white). Up until the 1950s, the inhabitants of Bramousse used to go up there from June to September. Have you ever seen a hundred-year-old larch tree? Follow the yellow signs on the right to meet it! It's remarkable for the circumference of its trunk and for its age! From the chalets, return by the same route.

In winter, from Pont de Chanterane to Pont de Peyre Bartino, the route is a cross-country ski trail! It is therefore exclusively reserved for cross-country skiing.
In spring and autumn, conditions are changeable, and even without snow, the trail can be icy. So, in the mountains, the reflex to adopt is "go out well-equipped". In my bag, I slip or I hang: crampons and poles.

In winter, the right reflexes are: snowshoes, poles, gloves, hat, sun cream and... a survival blanket! Experience is essential, and knowing when to give up is sometimes preferable to taking risks.
