  • Family itinerary in a loop, with an outing in the forest and a return by the Mediterranean side. The Aigle hill offers a panoramic view of the perched village of Tende and a pleasant space for a picnic.

  • From the Tourist Office, walk down Avenue du 16 septembre 1947 to Place de la République. Between the bakery and the "Stella Alpina" store, go down the little rue du Général Doyen, where the itinerary is indicated on a wooden sign from the Conseil départemental, beacon 55. You pass a wash-house and cross the Roya. Under the pillar of the railway viaduct, follow the marker at the start of the concrete ramp on your left, number 63, then up on your right the path starts at marker 62. Walk...

Walk quietly through the undergrowth to marker 61, at the Eagle monument. Just opposite, the old village of Tende takes on a different aspect. Then the little path between thyme and lavender, more stony, takes you back due south to the start of rue Marius Barucchi, a stone's throw from the Médiathèque départementale. Go back up the street to your starting point.
