Pont Royal International Golf

A few kilometers from Aix-en-Provence, not far from the authentic landscapes and villages of the southern Luberon, the Pont Royal International Golf Course welcomes players in an idyllic setting. Its 18-hole course signed by Severiano Ballesteros, its privileged location and its top-of-the-range services make it a renowned destination for French and international golfers of all levels.

The 18-hole course

The name of Severiano Ballesteros, one of the most successful athletes in the history of golf, with more than 90 victories in international tournaments during his career, is inseparably linked to the history and reputation of the Pont Royal International Golf Club. This champion is indeed the architect of some of the most beautiful courses on the planet and is at the origin of the Pont Royal course, his only French achievement.

The 18-hole course bears witness to Severiano Ballesteros’ intelligence of play and finesse. The fairways and greens, lined with trees and strewn with obstacles (stretches of water, bunkers), must be approached with wisdom and technique. From the very first hole, a sloping forest requires that you calculate your first shot with caution and circumspection. By rubbing up against this course and its traps, beginner golfers will be able to quickly improve their technique. More experienced amateurs will see it as a challenge to be taken up.

Several national and international competitions take place on the course, including the Hopps Open de Provence as part of the European Challenge Tour.

The 6 and 3-hole courses

With a length of 945 meters, the Durance 6-hole course is perfectly adapted to beginners and is part of a true educational approach. It allows you to learn to respect the etiquette of golf and to understand the finesse of its rules. It is also perfect for perfecting your game in a bucolic setting, near the Durance canal in a typically Mediterranean landscape. The greens benefit from the same maintenance requirements as those of the Ballesteros course.

The 3-hole course is a high-quality practice area with a net warm-up area and 3 holes. It recreates the situations and sensations of a real course and allows you to improve your putting.

Golf courses

The Pont Royal International Golf Course is renowned for the quality of its teaching and its facilities, with a 41-station driving range, a 300 m² putting green of 9 holes, wedging area, an approach green.

The Pont Royal academy offers introductory and advanced courses with a teaching method focused on progression. The golf school also offers courses for children and teenagers up to 18 years old.

The “One Putt Petit jeu” training, in the Pitch&Putt training area, allows you to improve your game in three hours around 4 approaches: Wedging at less than 100 meters, Chipping at less than 30 meters, Bunker and Putting. At the end of this course, beginners or experienced players will improve their technique on the fairways and on the green.

Hotels, shops and restaurants

Would you like to stay several days on the Pont Royal International Golf Course to practice your favorite sport and discover the tourist treasures of Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon?

You can stay in the Pierre & Vacances residences on the estate, with apartments and villas for rent. The 3-star Hotel du Golf is located in the center of the village, right next to the Club House. The Moulin de Vernègues, a 4-star character hotel located on the second hole, is part of the “Châteaux et Hotels Collection” network and seduces the most demanding clients with its spa and its two restaurants : Les Voûtes, a traditional restaurant, and La table du Moulin, a gastronomic restaurant.

The estate hosts several restaurants and cafés: Es Beu la Vie, Les Tilleuls, La Farigoule, Le Comptoir des Vins, Le Café des Arts… Other quality establishments await gourmets in Mallemort or Aix-en-Provence.

Shops are also installed in the heart of the domain: grocery store, press point, souvenir and decoration store.

The Proshop allows you to buy on site all the equipment you need to play golf: clothes, accessories, bags, gloves, clubs…

Practical information

You can occasionally play at Golf International de Pont Royal by buying a single green-fee or a package of several green-fees for the course of your choice.  Subscriptions are also available all year round for the courses of your choice: Ballesteros (18 holes), Durance (6 holes), Pitch & Putt (3 holes).
