Château de Beaucastel is a magical place surrounded with vine-covered hills, centuries-old olive trees and downy oak trees.
Here, nature flourishes, is set free and at ease. Very old vines with knotty stock are grown using traditional goblet pruning on a soil with tough round stones. When the Mistral blows – the legendary wind blowing from the Alps and plunging into the “funnel” of the Rhone Valley – you can feel it racing up to the vines and bringing out all the fragrances of the garrigue. It has the same accent as the local people, who live their lives in line with the Mediterranean climate. On these ancestral lands with the 13 grape varieties, Château de Beaucastel wines are born each year.
