The Meyer fish farm is a family business now run by the 3rd and 4th generations. Located between Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the Sorgue River, with its constant temperature of 13° all year round, is an ideal environment for trout.
The fish farm produces two types of trout:
- Rainbow trout
- Fario trout
What's more, the Meyer fish farm has opted for a slow rearing cycle, i.e. between 3 and 4 years, to produce non-fat fish with firm flesh. Here, quality is far more important than quantity!
Since 2019, just next to the ponds, a processing workshop has been available for gutting and smoking in compliance with hygiene standards.
