Things to do in Isola 2000 if the weather is bad

Ideas of activities for when it rains or snows, or if it’s very cold

45 ski runs, a Bike Park and lots of hiking trails… the resort of Isola 2000 is heaven for outdoor activities. But if the sun refuses to come out, from the hammam or reading to the cheese platter, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy yourself while you wait for better weather.

Give yourself a wellbeing break

At the Spa of the Hotel Chalet Marano**** or at Beauty’Flo

Are the clouds crowding up in the Isola sky? A perfect excuse to head for the spa in Hôtel Chalet Marano ****! A timeless bubble of relaxation, the ESKIMO Spa is an invitation to let go in its hammam (8 people) and its sauna (6 people). And why not choose to be pampered in your private cabin with the Pure Altitude range of care treatment and rituals, based on mountain plants and minerals. The Beauty’Flo well-being centre also has a sauna, a hammam and a hydromassage cabin, and offers well-being and beauty treatment rituals. Little extra: no need to put a foot outside as the centre is located in the middle of Isola 2000’s shopping mall, with a warm, woody atmosphere. If you don’t feel like leaving your cosy nest, contact Déborah Sanchez: she’s a masseuse and naturopath, and she can come to your accommodation. Last but not least, the Isola 2000 Tourist Office organises “wellbeing breaks” – yoga, meditation, stretching, in a yurt with a wood-burning stove!

Why not go to the cinema

The media library or the gaming room

Feel like going to see a good film? The Ciné 2000 cinema – which mostly programmes films in French and a few in the original version – is also in Isola 2000’s shopping mall. Practical for a warm shopping session, before or after the film. Also in the shopping mall, the Salle Mercière, the games mecca in Isola 2000, is ideal for a warm, friendly time if the weather turns bad: there are consoles, books, a billiards table, a ping pong table, table football and an area for toddlers. The Isola 2000 Tourist Office regularly organises events, workshops, creative art workshops and bingo evenings.

Discover local gastronomy

And savoir-faire

In Isola 2000, when the weather is bad, it’s also an opportunity to enjoy some delicious local Alpine specialities. Both a farm and a cheese house, La Vacherie de Chastillon welcomes you for a touching visit, where you’ll see the calves suckling. You can even leave with a superb raclette platter and Italian charcuterie. The resort also has some really good restaurants and brasseries (La Raclette, Les Marmottes, Le Cow-Club, Le Petit Chamois, Le Gavouat, La Différence, L’Avalanche, Le Lounge, The Rendez-vous… The list is long!). The restaurants Le Schuss and Le Refuge Le Solarium regularly organise sono cocktails. On rainy Saturdays, come and meet Léon, Isola’s beekeeper, and Freddy, the brewer, at Le Coin des Producteurs. And in winter and in summer, you’ll find all the local products for sale at the Utile supermarket and the Tourist Office.
