Ski resort : Superdevoluy

Connected by the ski area, the resorts of SuperDévoluy and La Joue du Loup have 100 km of pistes. Located in the heart of the Alps, they are equipped with 23 modern ski lifts that serve about sixty slopes. Many winter sports can be practiced there. Several areas are dedicated to freeriding and are appreciated by amateurs.

Thanks to the “Famille Plus” label obtained by the area, you can be sure to spend unforgettable family holidays. Numerous facilities and activities have been specially set up to welcome young and old alike and allow them to have fun together or separately during their stay. The youngest children will be able to learn the basics of skiing while having fun with the École de Ski Français (French Ski School) instructors. SuperDévoluy and La Joue du Loup resorts offer a family package that makes winter sports accessible to all.

Each resort has its own atmosphere. In SuperDévoluy, you will discover a pleasant holiday village spirit, easy to live in and with shops nearby, ideal for families. Built in 1960, the resort has kept the charm of the old. La Joue du Loup is dotted with small wooden chalets whose architecture offers a cozy atmosphere to the place. Snowpark

The snowpark of Superdévoluy and La Joue du Loup has been named the Mushroom’s park. At an altitude of 2,000 m, it is a meeting place for riders and freestyle skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Adrenaline and thrills are guaranteed on this sporting course punctuated with whoops, ramps and jumps. These two hectares located in the heart of the ski area benefit from a CoolZone. It is a privileged meeting place to have a drink with friends in a lively atmosphere or to relax between two runs.

Nordic Area

The ski area has 30 km of cross-country ski trails divided into 14 courses. Beginners and initiates are all welcome, as there is something for all levels. You can admire various landscapes as you glide down the tracks that cross the woods and clearings. Enjoy the view during the long balcony crossings from west to east.

On the ski area of SuperDévoluy and La Joue du Loup, you will benefit from 20 km of multi-activity trails. You will have the opportunity to take a snowshoe or fat bike ride (a bike with oversized tires that allow you to ride on snow) and thus discover the exceptional landscapes of Hautes-Alpes.

Ski Touring

Immerse yourself in the high mountain landscapes of the Dévoluy by practicing ski touring. Dévoluy is one of the most suitable massifs in the Southern Alps for ski touring. The succession of valleys seems to have been thought for mountain skiers. The slopes are accessible, whatever your level, thanks to the dedicated itineraries that have been set up by the commune. Whether high peaks or smaller peaks, it is up to you to choose the challenge of the day. Caving tours have made the reputation of the Dévoluy massif and are worth the detour.

Climbing

Dévoluy is famous for its cliffs offering exceptional climbing walls. 70 routes with multiple levels allow you to practice this sport with your family and in the sun.

Located at the entrance of the village of Saint-Étienne-en-Dévoluy, the Les Étroits climbing wall must also be mentioned. Facing due south, it is a privileged site for climbing enthusiasts. Over the decades, the river has formed an impressive crack measuring 40 m to 60 m deep and only 2 m wide in some parts. A via ferrata has been set up in the Défilé des Étroits and allows you to go along this small canyon in an exceptional landscape.

Pic de Bure

At an altitude of 2,709 m, at the very top of Pic de Bure, you will enjoy an exceptional panorama of the surroundings. On a clear day, you can admire the Écrins and Vercors massifs and the South Luberon mountain. On the Bure plateau, let yourself be surprised by six enormous satellite dishes, measuring 15 m in diameter each. They are used to receive radio waves for the NOEMA on the Pic de Bure and they surprise many visitors every year.
