Canal de la Siagne, 06250 Mougins
Next to Mas Notre-Dame de Vie, former property of Pablo Picasso, the Siagne canal offers a bucolic walk in the heart of the city.
Built at the initiative of Lord Brougham, former minister of justice in the English government, and inaugurated in 1868, dotted with hydraulic structures of that time, it has become a historic walking place for the populations of the communes that it crosses along its 43 kilometers of course.
The Siagne Canal is an integral part of the heritage and has structured the entire life of the local people. The residents are deeply attached to it because it represents the Provençal cultural identity. The canal offers a remarkable site of all architectural and landscaped beauty unique in this department. With the terraces and faïces, the whole spectacle of Provence is offered to the eyes of walkers. It is an ideal place to rejuvenate where you walk along the banks from the beginning.
