Porte d'entrée du parc national du Mercantour et point de départ de nombreuses randonnées pédestres, en particulier vers les vallées de Fontanalbe, des Merveilles et de Valmasque, Casterino est un petit paradis préservé à découvrir à chaque saison !
Located in the extreme south-east of the Mercantour National Park, Casterino is an unspoilt natural setting with breathtaking panoramic views. At the foot of the Fontanalbe valley, this quiet hamlet is close to the trails leading to the famous Vallée des Merveilles and the Valmasque valley.
Casterino is also the ideal starting point for hikes to the Col de Tende, the Haute Route du Sel and the Tende municipal forest, one of the largest in France.
In every season, Casterino reveals its unique charm: the spectacular rebirth of the flora in the summer; the flamboyant colors of the larch trees in autumn; and in winter, the blanket of snow animates the hamlet around its Nordic center.
