The apotheosis...a breathtaking view of Beaulieu sur Mer and Cap-Ferrat, whose name could come from the Latin ferus, wild, uncultivated, fallow.
The nearby hills that unfold before your eyes are still covered in Mediterranean species, with evergreen foliage and a variety of colors, from the silver of the olive trees to the different shades of green of the oaks and Aleppo pines. Urban development is adapting to this steep terrain and taking shape along the access roads.
On the coast, from left to right, you can see the commune of Beaulieu sur Mer and its famous Kérylos villa. The landscape is marked by a string of tall palm trees along the Baie des Fourmies. The coastline then becomes more indented, overhung by pine trees and leading to Cap Ferrat. The village of Saint Jean and its small port can be seen, followed by the Pointe Saint Hospice. Between sea and sky, you can make out numerous small coves.
Your gaze turns to the Cap massif, dotted with magnificent estates and exuberant vegetation. The semaphore can be seen at the summit. Your gaze skirts around the cape and its rocky coastline, returning to the Pointe Passable before reaching the Pont Saint Jean.
Under the shade of Aleppo pines sculpted by the violence of the sea breeze, dense vegetation adorns the cliffs with agaves erecting their flowering spikes, carpets of euphorbia and lentisks, sarsaparilla and fleshy sea fennel nestling in the interstices of the rocks. In the gardens of the vast estates, native and exotic species share the space: olive trees and cypresses, but also bougainvilleas, yuccas and pittosporum.
