Its landscapes are varied: dark red rocks, sculpted by the offshore wind and cliffs of carved rocks, alternate with pebble coves and sandy beaches, topped by leaning pines.

The pleasures of swimming:
There is something for everyone: next to the large beaches, the cut relief shelters a string of charming beaches.

Swimming is allowed everywhere (under the responsibility of the swimmers). Sanary offers swimming enthusiasts 5 beaches where the city guarantees their safety, hygiene and comfort: these are the beaches of La Gorguette, Portissol, Le Levant, Baie de Cousse and the Golden Beach.

Bathing waters:
In order to guarantee sanitary bathing conditions for beach users, the municipality is committed to a bathing water quality management approach, for which it obtained certification in 2015.

Valid for 3 years, this label is subject to annual monitoring which was carried out at the beginning of July this year.
With this certification, the municipality continues its dynamic of continuous improvement.

Beach surveillance:
Swimming supervision on five beaches in the municipality of Sanary sur mer for the 2019 season is carried out by lifeguards qualified by the National Aquatic Safety and Rescue Certificate (BNSSA) assisted on certain posts by first aiders who have completed the First Aid Level 2 Team Training (PSE2).

Label handiplage :
Since July 2016, 2 beaches have been labelled "handiplage".
Portissol beach and Lido beach have become accessible to all, and have been awarded the "handiplage" label.
It is important that this quality of life be shared by all!
