On the Bonnieux road

Far from the bustle of big cities, go along the beautiful roads in the Vaucluse at a different pace. Immerse yourselves in a Provence which changes from season to season and plunges you into a slower atmosphere. On the Bonnieux road, your passengers will be able to make the most of the landscapes: across the Massif du Luberon, beautiful rocks and winding roads blend with lush vegetation. You’ll meet other tourists along the road with their cameras trying to capture the beauty of the landscape. In summer, classic cars and other vintage automobiles scour the roads and offer a magnificent view for the lucky ones who manage to get a photograph as they drive past. When you arrive in Bonnieux, you’ll fall under the charm of this authentic Luberon village perched on a hilltop in the Petit Luberon with its old church at the top and its hundred-year-old yew trees. Wander along its cobbled streets and relax to the gentle rhythm of the village for just a moment – that’s all you’ll need to unwind: we enjoy life here!

An air of Provence!

My wife had an excellent idea for my birthday. She gave me a long weekend in Provence,  a region I didn’t know at all. It’s great to discover the place in autumn colours and without the crowds! I love to photograph roads which go through the natural surroundings which, between Bonnieux and Lourmarin, are magnificent and terribly photogenic. Winding through rocks and vegetation, this small Provencal road made a lovely picture. For the record, I waited for some minutes to get a picture of a classic car which never appeared You can’t have everything and I’ll do better next time!

  • Admire the exceptional panorama stretching from the Petit Luberon to the Monts de Vaucluse and Mont Ventoux. And the road down through the Combe de Lourmarin is the only road which goes through the Luberon and divides it in two!
  • Stroll along the steep streets to see the beautiful houses, fountains and wash-houses which make up this charming hilltop village.
  • Drive along the narrow road which dominates the valley of the Pays d’Apt and visit the magnificent cedar forest on the Crête du Petit Luberon: 250 hectares of a vast forest for the most incredible walks.
  • Don’t miss: Bonieux’s heritage circuit wth its 15 panels tracing the history of the village. Discover the Musée de la Boulangerie (Bakery museum), the new church, the Portail des Chèvres and the Jardin de la Louve along the itinerary.

Hobby photographer

A great lover of the world and a traveller for many years, it has gradually become clear to me that photography was my thing. To capture and beautify what’s around me is now my greatest passion. It’s actually ‘thanks’ to the Covid crisis that I really managed to train. I also opened an Instagram account into which I feed all my many memories of trips here and elsewhere every day. My style is based first and foremost on an interpretation of atmospheres. I like getting the most out of each place but try to stay authentic at the same time. What I like best is when a scene from real life adds to a landscape or a street. For this, I may have to wait quite some time before pressing the shutter button…
