The Verdon Regional Nature Park
From the marriage between the Verdon river, the limestone rock and the blue of Provence was born the Verdon. The landscapes are at the same time bucolic and wild: cultivated valleys, woods and forests, meadows, deep valleys? You will be able to practise many nature activities: hiking, horse riding or cycling, canyoning, climbing, kayaking, via ferrata, tree climbing… The authentic villages bear witness to a human occupation several thousand years old. During your tourist escapades, you can discover wash houses, wells, fountains, churches, chapels, historical milestones, bread ovens, grain mills, oil mills, windmills, irrigation canals, dovecotes, bridges, oppidums… Agropastoralism is perpetuated thanks to the work of passionate farmers. Grocery stores and markets will introduce you to local flavors: gingerbread, honey, mountain cheese, lamb meat, vegetables and fruit, olive products (oil and pasta), citrus liqueurs, lavender essential oil…
