The Préalpes of the French Riviera Park
Between sun and mountains, the Natural Park of the Préalpes of the French Riviera welcomes on its territory landscapes of an astonishing diversity, composed of valleys shaped by man, deep canyons, forests… Under the sunshine of the Préalpes d’Azur grow and flower more than 2000 plant species, including 40 species that are found nowhere else. Numerous birds can be seen in the skies of the French Préalpes: the ladder tichodrome, the European owl, the Jean-le-Blanc circaet, the golden eagle, the red-backed shrike, the redstart… You will be able to practise many nature leisure activities. Hiking enthusiasts will discover the trails that have been laid out for them. You can also set off on the roads of the Préalpes by bike, take a climbing lesson or try canyoning or horse riding… The historical heritage also attracts visitors. You can discover fountains, wash houses, wells, churches, chapels, historic milestones, bread ovens, oil mills, irrigation canals, dovecotes, bridges, castles… Mountain agriculture is still practiced in the Préalpes.
