The Préalpes of the French Riviera Park
From the meeting between the Côte d’Azur and the Alps were born the Préalpes d’Azur. The landscapes here are bucolic and wild: vertiginous valleys or cultivated valleys, forests… Under the sun of the Préalpes d’Azur more than 2000 plant species flourish, including 40 endemic species. Ornithologists can observe many species: rock ptarmigan, pipit rousseline, rock swallow, blue mound, black grouse, boreal chickadee? The Park has been developed to welcome outdoor activity enthusiasts, while ensuring the preservation of biodiversity… Hiking is a popular nature activity in the Park… You can also cycle along the Park’s paths, climb, canyon, or go horseback riding… From one valley to the other, you can discover a historical heritage which can be discovered during the visits: historical milestones, bread ovens, wells, wash houses, castles… Markets and grocery stores will invite you to discover local products: gingerbread, honey, goat’s cheese, lamb meat, market garden and farm products, olive products (oil and pasta)…
