The former fishing port has become a renowned seaside resort at the gates of Marseille. Do you want to visit Cassis in one day? We offer a selection of activities for an unforgettable experience!
The Calanques National Park
Between Cassis and Marseille, coves with endless cliffs follow one another, vertiginous ridges, islands and islets, vast expanses of white rock carpeted with scrubland and pine forests. The Calanques National Park, between land and sea, is a major tourist destination. You can devote a few hours in your day to discovering the creeks, by boarding one of the ships that leave from the port of Cassis. You will admire a mineral landscape unique in the world, and you will navigate in waters of great purity.
Cap Canaille
No one can ignore Cap Canaille when visiting Cassis. This immense vessel of red stones raises its silhouette to the south of the city. A road leads to the top of this promontory, from where one of the most beautiful views of the Calanques awaits you. We urge you to be careful: the Soubeyranes cliffs are particularly steep.
The Port and the historic center
A walk on the port of Cassis allows you to admire many pointed boats, traditional boats in Provence. The quays are lined with cafes and restaurants, for a gourmet break at any time of the day. In the streets that line the seafront, many shops invite you to a shopping spree.
The beaches of Cassis
Do you want to alternate between visits and idleness during your day in Cassis? Several beaches welcome you for a swim in the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Grande Mer beach, large and easily accessible, is certainly the most touristy. You can also lay your towel on Bestouan beach, close to the Calanque de Port-Miou, or prefer the quieter beach of Arène.
