The Bird Mirror

Behind this poetic name hides a picturesque little fishing port, which has inspired many artists over the decades. The pointus, these Provencal boats, are moored at the foot of the facades in ocher and pink colors. In the early morning, when the sunlight plays with the waves, the port of the Miroir aux Oiseaux is particularly photogenic.

The Ziem Museum

Félix Ziem was one of the precursors of the Impressionist movement. The Ziem museum honors the paintings of this talented painter, and also hosts works by other artists of primary importance, such as Raoul Dufy and André Derain. The top floor of the museum focuses on the particularly rich past of Martigues, from prehistory to a more contemporary era.
