Correns welcomes you to the heart of the Green Provence. Explore an authentic village nestled in beautiful landscapes.

A visit to Correns allows you to discover picturesque houses, medieval streets (known as ‘calades’), squares, and fountains where you’ll want to pause for a few minutes. The Fort Gibron, a former priory from the 13th century, is located at the top of the village. You can also visit the church of Baroque architecture, constructed in the 18th century, which houses a magnificent altarpiece.

In Correns, there are numerous nature-related activities available. Several hiking trails start from the village, offering routes suitable for both beginners and experienced hikers in terms of length, difficulty, and elevation. You can also explore the Green Provence by bicycle, mountain bike, or on horseback. Nearby, you can engage in rock climbing near the village of Correns. The Vallon Sourn, crossed by the Argens River, is an exceptional natural site that harbours endemic species.

The village of Correns is surrounded by vineyards, aromatic plant cultivation, poultry farms, and goat farms. Organic agriculture takes center stage during the third weekend of August at a grand market. You can also discover local specialties by dining at restaurants, visiting wineries, and exploring local producers.

The museums and monuments near Correns

The Fort Gibron, a former 12th-century abbey residence, has been transformed into a cultural center and welcomes you in Correns.

Several monuments and museums also welcome you near Correns.

In Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, you can find the Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene, construction of which began in the late 13th century. This immense Gothic structure houses the relics of Mary Magdalene. Also in Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, the Maison d’Histoire et du Patrimoine (House of History and Heritage) offers exhibitions throughout the year.

In Brignoles, you can visit the Museum of the Counts of Provence. It is located in the former Palace of the Counts of Provence and houses significant artworks.

Architecture enthusiasts can discover the Templar Castle in Montfort-sur-Argens. This private residence is not open for visits but can be admired from the outside.
