The Comtat Venaissin
Rasteau belonged to the Comtat Venaissin, a territory administered by the popes. Extending essentially to the east of Avignon, from Bollène in the north-west to Bonnieux in the south-east, the Comtat Venaissin is renowned for the beauty of its landscapes and its strong identity, between terroir and heritage.
