MPG2019 – Year of Gastronomy in Provence

Provence is celebrating its culinary expertise and lifestyle with this tribute to its creative talents in the fields of gastronomy, from artisans to farmers, from the field to the plate. This festive year promises a delicious gastronomic voyage, including encounters with chefs, gourmet markets, picnics with a view, exhibitions, festivals, banquets and urban vegetable gardens.

50th Rencontre Internationale de la Photographie 

July 1st to September 22nd, 2019

Les Rencontres d’Arles is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019! An absolute must-see for photo fans, this festival founded in 1970 stages around 40 exhibitions, together with satellite events at the town’s most beautiful heritage sites including the new Fondation Luma. For the last 3 years, “Les Rencontres” has also been scheduled outside the city walls. The event’s success has even fostered its expansion to China.

73rd Festival d’Avignon : the in & the off 

July, 4th to 23th, 2019

This world-famed summer festival bathes the town in a happy hubbub every year. Whether you choose to attend some of the 60 or so ON shows held in such prestigious venues as the courtyard of the Pope’s Palace, or partake in the 1,400 OFF events, the Festival d’Avignon is a genuine world apart, bathed in its own unique atmosphere. A must!
Olivier Py, Director of the Festival d’Avignon since 2014, has unveiled that the 2019 edition will revolve around the “Odyssey” theme, both in the strictest sense of the word and in the sense of “contemporary odysseys, refugees and welcoming others”.
