This chapel consists of two 12th century buildings which are connected - Saint-John the Baptist Chapel and Notre-Dame Chapel, both of which have rich sculpted decorations inside. The carved Roman stones re-used here testify to the ancient occupation of this site. In the 14th century, these chapels stood inside a palace, where Pope Clement V liked to stay. The chapels stand in a lovely countryside setting, near a spring, very nice for picnics.Closed for the moment . call the Tourist Office of Carpentras for information: 04 90 63 00 78.
