The former Romanesque chapel of Vallauris Castle houses the National Picasso Museum "War and Peace", a monumental composition painted on isorel panels.
It is in the Romanesque chapel of the Château de Vallauris, where Picasso stayed from 1948 to 1955, that three of his major works are exhibited. At the time, the choice of this place is part of a trend of rediscovery of sacred art. Gigantic and magnetic creations, War and Peace, conceived in the troubled post-war period and tinged with an allegorical dimension, face each other and meet at the top of the vault.
