After apparitions of Virgin, Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces was built in 1519. In 1660 King Louis XIV came in compagny with his mother, in order to thank Virgin for his miraculous birth. In the same year, St Joseph appeared on Mount Bessillon, 3km away.
Overhanging the village of Cotignac, Notre Dame de Grâces enjoys a magnificent situation conducive to contemplation. Great religious celebrations and numerous pilgrimages enliven the sanctuary all year round. Whether you are guided by a spiritual impulse or simple curiosity, a visit is worth the detour.
