Discover the pleasures of white water activities in Ubaye: rafting, canoeing, kayaking, air boat... The main theme is pleasure and sensations!
The Apache Rafting base is a 15-minute walk from Barcelonnette.
Professional, enthusiastic guides from Ubaye are delighted to take you through the rapids, gorges and canyons of their region.
White water activities for everyone: beginners, experts, families with children or friends.
Whether you're a thrill-seeker or a quiet observer of natural landscapes, Ubaye has something for everyone!
Hydrospeed, or white-water swimming, is done using a float and flippers. You'll also put on a thick wetsuit. The wetsuit is supplied as standard and will protect you from any minor knocks and from the cold. The float is used to keep your upper body at the surface of the water, and the flippers to create balance.
The fins are also used for propulsion, provided you're not too lazy. You need to move your legs. Palmer tones the buttocks, don't forget! Hydrospeeding is the most accessible and, in our opinion, the most educational way of exploring a river. There's no sensation of falling, because you're already in the water! You navigate like a fish, protected by your float and a thick wetsuit.
The aim is to learn how to go down the river while having fun. The best practices and safety rules for hydrospeed descents will be explained to you during the briefing by the whitewater instructor guide.
