A day trip to discover mountaineering and the world of a glacier accompanied by an experienced guide.

These outings are an opportunity to discover mountaineering and the grandiose universe of a glacier through routes without technical difficulties in the heart of the Ecrins massif in the Hautes Alpes. The Girose glacier spreads out at the foot of the Ruillans station, the arrival point for the La Grave/ Meije cable car. Together with the glacier of Mont de Lans, it forms the largest ice cap in France (6 km from east to west). Its crevices and seracs are within reach of almost all feet - provided they are accompanied and roped.
Description
Head towards the Col de la Lauze on the Girose glacier or towards the Cols du Replat or Clot des Cavales and enjoy magnificent panoramas from Vercors to Mont Blanc, from Vanoise to Mont Thabor, pretty peaks as far as the eye can see and right next to the majestic Meije. During the outings you will get closer to the basics of glacier evolution.

From 10 years old. Children accompanied by an adult
To plan: Outfit adapted to the activity, Water bottle, running supplies, backpack (about 35l), Sunglasses, cap and sunscreen, harness, A pair of crampable mountain shoes, Hiking stick (recommended), Classic ice ax. Crampons with anti-boots adjusted to your shoes, Transport to the place of activity, Picnic.

Supervision by a high mountain guide or a state-certified instructor, Professional Civil Liability Insurance, collective technical equipment (rope...).

Not Included

to plan in addition: Personal insurance in Individual Accident, cable car package (possibility to buy it at the guide’s office that morning)
