Do you want to try to climb your first 3000m? The Horizons Mountain Office will be there to accompany you to the summit. Between the discovery of the lake of Goléon and an ascent with a view on the Aiguilles d'Arves, a hike rich in emotion!
We propose you with this round trip, the ascent of a summit accessible to the hiker of more than 3000m.
This beautiful viewpoint is however very little frequented because of its remote geographical situation. We will start by crossing the small traditional hamlet of Le Plot and we will follow the access path to the very beautiful lake of Goléon 2450m. After this lake with its breathtaking view on the Meije and its glaciers, our route will go along the high valley of Maurian before engaging in a long off-path climb to our summit.
We will probably observe chamois, big birds of prey and marmots...
This summit will offer us a 360° panorama with a visual proximity on the very beautiful Aiguilles d'Arves.
The descent will be done on the same axis as our ascent.
This route is not technically very demanding but it will be necessary to pay attention to the off-trail parts with a steep final part and possible névés at the beginning of the season. It will be physical because of its 1400m positive and negative difference in altitude and its distance of about 15 km.

The mountain leader has an insurance covering their professional responsibility and rescue. We cannot substitute ourselves for the civil liability of each participant. Also, an individual accident liability insurance covering the practice of mountain sports without altitude limitation is recommended. In case of physical injury, the responsibility of the guide will be released as soon as the rescue services take charge. Any hospital follow-up (care, transfer, repatriation) will be the responsibility of the personal insurance of the accident victim.

Do not forget to inform us briefly and privately, if you have a particular treatment and/or if you are medically monitored. This will allow us to give quick and reliable information to the mountain rescue doctor in case of an accident.
